What do we believe about giving? We encourage giving an act of worship!
-
- It focuses our hearts on our true treasure which is Christ. (Matthew 6:21)
-
- It is an acknowledgement that God is the owner of everything. (I Chronicles 29:11-12)
-
- It turns our focus from the idolatry of money to serving God. (Luke 16:11-13)
-
- It is an expression of our love for God and our devotion to Him.
-
- It is born out of our free response to all He has done for us, not out of guilt or duty. (2 Corinthians 9:7)
When should I start giving?
START NOW! The moment you come into the knowledge of the truth make the necessary changes to obey the Word of God... Start now where you are even if it's not 10% (i.e. it may be 3%, 5% now), but you will grow in your obedience to God and personal discipline.
What your giving does?
Your giving helps meet physical and spiritual needs of the people who attend GFCD. It helps fund the God given vision for expansion to this ministry. It's provision for the house of God; no lack of means or money to carry out God's work.
What should my attitude towards giving be?
I should have an attitude of joy, cheer and willingness that God has blessed me to give back into the ministry. 2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.. When money comes into your hands your first thought is not, "Look at the money I have", but instead, "Look how much money I have to tithe with!"
